Service Description: Programs for Individuals Experiencing Barriers to Employment.

Programs available:
  • Full Suite Employment Services-assist individual to achieve success in the labour market.
  • Youth Job Link program-provides youth, including students, between the ages of 15 and 29 with extra help to plan their careers and transition to the labour market.
  • Settlement Services-provides help for Newcomers to identify and resolve settlement issues which may pose as barriers to employment.
  • Work Hardening / Conditioning-provides individualized, work-hardening programs designed to progressively improve a participant's strength, endurance, level of productivity and work capacity.
  • Distance Learning Job Search Techniques-provides four week program for clients requiring long-distance assistance with resumes, cover letters, interview skills and job search techniques. A two week program is also available for cover letter/resume assistance only.
  • Work Assessment (Ontario Works)-provides individualized, work-oriented programs designed to assess an individual's best vocational option.
  • Psycho-Vocational Evaluations- provides help to individuals to identify vocational alternatives that are consistent with their aptitudes, interests, skills and physical capabilities.
  • Creative Job Search Techniques-program is designed to give participants the necessary knowledge to conduct a successful job search.
  • The Canada Ontario Job Grant (COJG) provides an opportunity for employers to invest in their workforce with assistance from the Government.

Eligibility / Target Population: Permanent residents of Canada who has not become a Canadian citizen; a "Protected Person" under the Refugee Protection Act; and a person who has been informed of approval for Permanent Resident status
