Service Description: Provides settlement services, language training, skills upgrading and employment preparation to newcomers, immigrants and refugees

Information and Assessment Sessions -- daily, weekly or bi weekly evening sessions, schedule varies * referral to programs at Skills for Change and other organizations

Settlement Services for Newcomers -- general orientation, information and referral * information sessions and workshops * individual assistance including needs assessment, mentoring, form filling * programs for newcomer youth * Women Connecting with Women program for immigrant and refugee women -- counseling, including crisis counseling * mentoring, networking and support groups * life skills training * free workshops * child care available on site

Language Training
English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, in partnership with local school boards

Enhanced Language Training (ELT) for internationally trained professionals, with a focus on engineers, architects, and information technology professionals -- 5 week sector specific language training in engineering, information technology, retail and sales management and construction trades (October 2018) * job search training and mentoring * child care may be available -- call for information

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) in English -- upon assessment of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in English, using the Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) administered by YMCA of Greater Toronto, see separate entry

Job Board -- online listing of positions available

Seniors Connect -- programs for seniors in health and wellness, financial literacy, new technology, music, recreation and fitness
